A quick update about the Junior Section.....
Brendan Hichens played for Cornwall under 25 two rink against Warwickshire on 18th May 2008 at Taunton Deane who won 43 shots to 29
They now go on to play in the Regional finals at Bath on the 15th June 2008.
Training resumes for the juniors on Sunday 250508 last time out there were 12 juniors in attendance.
In the winter Harry Anning came third in a mixed triples event at Newquay indoor bowling club.
Rory Loftus was invited for a Junior trial but was unable to accept his place due to other committments.
The Junior section has been in existence for 5 years.
Gill Instance started by going around knocking on the doors of the village, asking kids to come
and play. Some children & teenagers joined and it started from there.
The purpose of the Youth Section is to promote bowls not just to recruit for Chacewater.
We have young bowlers from other clubs that come and train with us.
Training takes part most Sundays throughout the Summer from 10:30am until about 12 noon.
We organise competitions for under 18s throughout the Southern Division.
Another Grant from the Lottery
Well done to Chris & Gill Instance for their continued support for the youth section.
They have managed to secure new funding to provide a new changing room for the
youth section, new lockers woods and general equipment.
The grant was for just under £6500.
